This female Lesser Redpoll (Carduelis cabaret) spent 3 days feeding in a birch tree in my garden. This has attracted Siskin in the past but this is the first Redpoll. These video grabs have enhanced the contrast significantly leading to the possibility of confusion with Common Redpoll (Carduelis flammea). The pale wingbars and mantle "tramlines" were no where near as striking at the time. I described the wingbar as pale buff and the tramlines as pale, nearly white. The rump can just be made out and is brownish. The bird appeared overall brownish and very small, similar to the Blue Tits also using the same tree.
