This juvenile is only the second Green Woodpecker to be ringed at Ferry Meadows and was trapped on 13 July. The Garden Warbler was caught on 21 July and shows considerable staining around the face from feeding on ripe berries.

Katie Fuller reports that the ringing demonstration on Sunday, 21 July was a great success. The total number of birds trapped and ringed was 131, broken down as follows:
Blackbirds - 3
Blackcap - 4
Blue Tit - 59
Bullfinch - 1

The total of birds Chris has ringed so far this year (since May) now stands at 996 birds - quite phenomenal.
