Three broods of Little Grebes were noted at Kings Dyke NR on 22 Jun, and adults with young were at Pumphouse Pit on 26 Jun (GW). Great Crested Grebes bred at: Kings Dyke NR (1 brood), Orton BP (pair + 3 young), Fletton Lake (adult + 4 young), Pumphouse Pit (pair with 4 young), Kings Dyke Pit (Funtham's Pit) (2 nests), Beeby's BP (pair + 1 young) and Crown Lakes (two broods) (GW). 15 were counted at Drysides Pit on 15 Jul (BS).
A Spoonbill was at Welland Bank Pits on 17 Jul, it flew off and was not relocated (RT). A feral Pink-footed Goose was at Ferry Meadows on 10 Jul (DG). Four Bar-headed Geese were at Ferry Meadows on 10 Jul (DG) and two were at Hampton Lakes on 16 Jul (GW). Nine Shelduck were seen flying south over Stanground and 11 flew east over Orton BP on 2 Jul (GW). Six were at Dog-in-a-Doublet on 11 Jul, 2 adults and at least 4 young (BS). A Teal was at Ferry Meadows on 15 Jul (DG) and one was at Orton BP on 16 Jul (GW). 76 Mallard were counted at CEGB reservoir on 2 Jul (GW) and 35 at Drysides Pit on 15 Jul (BS). 15 Red-crested Pochard were at Baston/Langtoft GP on 2 Jul (5 female, 8 male, 2 juv) but only six on 9 Jul and nine on 16 Jul (TW). 26 Pochard were at CEGB reservoir on 24 Jun (GW) and 13 at Drysides Pit on 15 Jul (BS). Tufted Ducks bred at Orton BP, Beeby's BP, Hampton Lakes, and CEGB reservoir (GW). Maximum counts of 64 at CEGB reservoir on 24 Jun and 164 at Orton BP on 16 Jul (GW). Two Ruddy Duck were at Drysides Pit on 2 Jul (GW).
A tagged Red Kite was seen at Glapthorne village on 1 Jul and one at Morborne Hill on 15 Jul (BS). Three Marsh Harriers were at Nene Washes (2 female, 1 male) on 4 Jul (CM) and one at Kings Dyke NR (male) on 19 Jul (PP). Sparrowhawks were seen at: Peterborough on 17 Jun, Orton/Hampton on 26 Jun, Orton Wistow on 4 Jul (BS), Crown Lakes on 20 Jun, Stanground Wash on 24 Jun, Haddon Crossing on 24 Jun (GW), Baston/Langtoft GP on 26 Jun (TW), Old Sulehay Forest on 26 Jun (BD). A Common Buzzard was at Baston/Langtoft GP on 26 Jun (TW) and Sutton Wood on 18 Jul (Ppr). Kestrels were seen at: Beeby's BP on 24 Jun, Drysides Pit on 16 Jul, Crown Lakes on 18 Jul (GW), Ferry Meadows on 5 Jul (BD). A Hobby was at Wittering on 24 Jun (GRH); at Baston/Langtoft GP on 2 Jul, with two there on 3 Jul, and one again on 16 Jul (TW); and Hill Farm at Chesterton on 15 Jul (BS).
Two Grey Partridge were at Morborne Hill on 25 Jun (GRH). A Water Rail was calling at Drysides Pit on 2 Jul (GW). 31 Coot were at Drysides Pit on 15 Jul (BS).
Three Oystercatchers were at Hampton Lakes on 24 Jun and 2 Jul (GW) and two there on 13th (BS) and 16 Jul (GW). Two at Welland Bank Pits on 17 Jul (RT). A pair of Little Ringed Plovers bred at CEGB reservoir fledging two young (GW). Three were at Baston/Langtoft GP (2 adult, 1 juv) on 2 Jul and four (1 adult, 3 juv) on 22 Jul (TW). Two at Welland Bank Pits on 17 Jul (RT) with five (3 adults, 2 juv) on 18 Jul (TW). Two Ringed Plovers were at CEGB reservoir on 24 Jun and two at Hampton Lakes the same day, three at CEGB reservoir and two at Hampton Lakes on 2 Jul (GW), four at Welland Bank Pits on 17 Jul (RT), 11 at High Wash on 17 Jul (BS) with ten on 20 Jul and two at Dog-in-a-Doublet on the same day (CM). At least two pairs of Lapwings bred at CEGB reservoir (GW). A Dunlin was at Welland Bank Pits (RT) and three on the High Wash on 17 Jul (BS). Two at Ferry Meadows (RH) and one on the High Wash on 20 Jul (CM). One at Baston/Langtoft GP on 22 Jul (TW). Five Ruff were at High Wash on 17 Jul (BS) and three were at the Nene Washes RSPB reserve on 21 Jul (RA). A Curlew was seen at Baston/Langtoft GP on 2 Jul (TW). Up to 16 Redshank were at High Wash on 17 Jul (BS). A Greenshank was at Baston/Langtoft GP on 2 Jul (TW), one at CEGB reservoir on 16 Jul (GW), four at High Wash on 17 Jul (BS), one at Ferry Meadows on 19 Jul (MW), and one at Nene Washes RSPB reserve on 21 Jul (RA). Five Green Sandpipers were at Baston/Langtoft GP on 26 Jun, ten there on 2nd and 3 Jul, five on 6 Jul and three on 9 Jul, five on 16 Jul, ten on 18 Jul and four on 22 Jul (TW). One at Ferry Meadows on 10th and 11 Jul with three on 12 Jul and one on 15th and 16 Jul (DG), four on 17 Jul (GRH), one on 19 Jul (MW), and two on 20 Jul (RH). One at Drysides Pit on 15 Jul (BS), and four at Welland Bank Pits on 17 Jul (RT). Two Common Sandpipers were at Hampton Lakes on 16 Jul (GW), three at Welland Bank Pits on 17 Jul (RT) and two there on 18 Jul (TW).
At least 15 pairs of Black-headed Gulls nested at Beeby's BP (GW). An adult Kittiwake was at Baston/Langtoft GP on 2 Jul (TW). Two pairs of Common Terns were found nesting with Black-headed Gulls at Beeby's BP (GW).
A pair of Barn Owls breeding along the Helpston/Maxey Road (RA). One hunting at Drysides Pit on 2 Jul (GW), one at Etton on 14 Jul (RA), one at Thorney on 16 Jul (TW) and one at Welland Bank Pits on 17 Jul (RT). A pair of Little Owls nesting beside the Marholm/Woodcroft road (RA). One hunting on the road surface at Marholm/Woodcroft on 12 Jul (RA). A Short-eared Owl was at Baston/Langtoft GP on 26 Jun (TW).
A Kingfisher was at Kings Dyke NR on 22 Jun and at Drysides Pit on 2nd and 16 Jul (GW). About 300 Sand Martins were at Hampton Lakes and about another 200 at Orton BP on 16 Jul (GW). Grey Wagtails were found to be nesting at Elton Mill and singing on 16 Jul (BS). Two were at Ferry Meadows on 16 Jun (DG), one was at Water Newton on 2 Jul (TW) and one at Fletton Lake on 16 Jul (GW).
A Grasshopper Warbler was singing at Beeby's BP and at Wyman's Bridge on 24 Jun (GW), another singing near Elton lock on 16 Jul (BS), and one at Kings Dyke NR on 20 Jul (GW). Spotted Flycatchers were seen regularly in a garden at Elton (BS), two at Ferry Meadows on 18 Jun (DG), several at Elton churchyard (probably nesting) on 7 Jul (BS), on at Stanley Park on 13 Jul (BS), four at Burghley Park (2 adults and 2 juvs) on 17 Jul (MC), one at The Mere (Deeping) on 18 Jul (DW & JW), and one at Market Deeping opposite the Georgians on 18 Jul (Ppr). A Marsh Tit was seen at Glapthorne Cow Pastures on 1 Jul (BS) and one in Bluebell Wood at Ferry Meadows on 16 Jul (DG).
Two Jays were seen together at Old Sulehay Forest on 26 Jun (BD). Five Bullfinches were seen at Ferry Meadows on 5 Jul (BD). Three or more Corn Buntings were at Kings Delph 2 Jul (GW), one was at Baston/Langtoft GP on 3 Jul (TW) and one was singing north of Helpston on 12th and 14 Jul (RA).
