Bewick’s Swans were at Eldernell on 4th and 5 Nov (GRH, TW) and 450 were at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT). Seven Whooper Swans were at Nene Washes on 14 Oct (JT), nine at Poplar Farm on 4 Nov (MW) and 15 at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT). Three Pink-footed Geese flew high overhead to the east at Nene Washes on 16 Oct (JT). Two feral Barnacle Goose were at Ferry Meadows on 12th and 19 Oct (TS) and on 9 Nov (GW). A Bar-headed Goose was at Bainton Pits on 4 Nov with Greylags (RT) and two were at Ferry Meadows on 9 Nov (GW).

A huge count of 12500 Wigeon was made at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT). Elsewhere there were two at Orton BP on 17 Oct (CM), seven at Ferry Meadows on 24 Oct (TS) and 31 on 6 Nov (SD, RH), two at Stanground High Wash on 1 Nov (GW) and 16 flying upstream at Elton on 11 Nov (BS). 26 Gadwall were at Baston and Langtoft GP on 29 Oct (TW). 121 Teal were at Ferry Meadows on 6 Nov (SD) and 2,600 were at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT). 115 Mallard were at Bainton Pits on 15 Oct (RT). 800 Pintail were at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT). 21 Shoveler were at Ferry Meadows on 26 Oct (DB). Eight Red-crested Pochard (4 pairs) were at Baston and Langtoft GP on 19 Nov (TW). 68 Pochard were at Bainton Pits on 15th and 19 Oct (RT) with 97 there on 4 Nov (RT), 88 were on Overton Lake at Ferry Meadows on 6 Nov (RH). 83 Tufted Ducks were at Bainton Pits on 15 Oct with 73 there on 4 Nov (RT), 82 at March Farmers on 12 Nov (OM&MM). An immature Scaup was at Poplar Farm on 4 Nov (MW) and two males at Ferry Meadows on 6 Nov (RH). A Goldeneye was at Baston and Langtoft GP on 29 Oct and one at Welland Bank on 4 Nov (TW). Three at March Farmers on 12 Nov (OM&MM). A Ruddy Duck was at Tallington on 19 Nov (TW).

A Marsh Harrier was at Eldernell on 31 Oct (CM), 10 Nov (JT), 12 Nov (OM&MM) and 16 Nov (SH) and one at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT). A Hen Harrier was at Deeping High Bank on 29 Oct (TW) and one at Eldernell on 6 Nov (JT, OM&MM). A male Goshawk was seen at Elton Furze on 2 Nov (RD). Sparrowhawks were seen at Morborne Hill, Elton (BS), Bainton Pits (RT), Ferry Meadows (DB), Eldernell (CM), Perkins - Peterborough (RT), King’s Dyke NR, Drysides Pit (GW), Casewick, Deeping High Bank (TW), Deeping St James (DW), Alwalton Hill, Peterborough Cemetery (BS), Borough Fen (DB), and March Farmers (OM&MM). Three Common Buzzards were at Monks Wood on 17 Oct (RB) and one at Glapthorne Cow Pasture on 12 Nov (GRH). Kestrels were seen at Perkins, Peterborough (RT), King’s Dyke NR, Crown Lakes, Drysides Pit (GW), Eye (TS), Eldernell (GRH), and Peakirk (RT). A Merlin was at Morborne Hill on 1 Nov (SD), another at Eldernell on 4 Nov (GRH), near Deeping St James Station on 6 Nov (SD), Stanground Wash on 10 Nov (GW), Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT) and Dog-in-a-Doublet on 18 Nov (MF). A Peregrine was at Nene Washes on 14 Oct (JT), 4 Nov (GRH), 5 Nov (TW), 10 Nov (JT), 12 Nov (OM&MM), and 18 Nov (JO). A Saker Falcon (presumed escape) was at Eldernell on 18 Nov (JO).

A Water Rail was calling at Drysides Pit on 10 Nov (GW), one heard at Eldernell on 12 Nov (OM&MM), two at Orton BP on 16 Nov, and three at Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC). 270 Coot were at Bainton Pits on 15 Oct and 359 there on 4 Nov (RT). A Common Crane was at Eldernell on 6th and 7 Nov (JT, et al.)

A Dotterel was at Deeping High Bank on 5 Nov (DP) and 150 Golden Plover were there on 4 Nov (TW). About 200 Golden Plover were at Drysides arable on 10 Nov (GW) and 80 were at March Farmers on 12 Nov (OM&MM). 350 Lapwing were at Stanground High Wash on 1 Nov (GW), 170 at Newborough on 3 Nov (DB), 1500 were at Drysides arable on 10 Nov (GW), 1000 at Borough Fen on 10 Nov (DB), 3000 to 4000 at March Farmers on 12 Nov (OM&MM), 5000 at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT) and 1000 at Deeping High Bank on 18 Nov (TW). A Little Stint was at Eldernell on 6 Nov (JT). 100 plus Ruff were at Poplar Farm on 4 Nov (MW) and at Eldernell on 6 Nov (JT), 110 Ruff were at Nene Washes on 13 Nov (JT). Two Jack Snipe were at Woodwalton Fen on 12 Nov (SH). A Woodcock was at Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC). 50 Redshank were at Poplar Farm on 4 Nov (MW). A Greenshank were at March Farmers and flying around at Eldernell on 12 Nov (OM&MM, DC). Two Green Sandpipers were at Funthams Pit on 21 Oct (GS).

An adult Mediterranean Gull was at Orton BP on 16 Nov (SC). A 1st year Little Gull was at Ferry Meadows on 7 Nov (RH). About 500 Black-headed Gulls were at Stanground High Wash on 1 Nov (GW), 1000 plus were at Dogsthorpe Tip on 16 Nov (SC). 430 Common Gulls were at Orton BP on 16 Nov (SC). 31 Lesser Black-backed Gull were at Dogsthorpe Tip on 16 Nov (SC). A 1st winter Yellow-legged Gull (L. a. michahellis) was at Orton BP on 11 Oct (DP). An adult Caspian Gull (L. a. cacchinans) was at Dogsthorpe Star Pit on 15 Oct (DP). 198 Great Black-backed Gulls were at Orton BP on 16 Nov and 89 were at Dogsthorpe Tip on the same day (SC).

37 plus Stock Doves were at Deeping High Bank on 6 Nov (SD). 4000 to 5000 Woodpigeons were at Morborne Hill on 1 Nov (SD), 250 were at Morborne Hill on 10 Nov (BS) and 900 were at Baston and Langtoft GP on 19 Nov (TW). A juvenile Rose-ringed Parakeet was seen at Orton Longueville on 1 Nov (SD) and a parakeet species was at Orton BP on 4 Nov (KW).

A Barn Owl was at Welland Bank on 29 Oct (TW) and two were at Eldernell on 4 Nov (GRH). A Little Owl was at Deeping High Bank on 18 Nov (TW). A Short-eared Owl was seen at Farcet Fen on 7 Oct (AL), two at Poplar Farm on 4 Nov (MW) and one at Eldernell on 12 Nov (OM&MM). A Kingfisher was at Maxey Pits on 15 Oct (RT), Ferry Meadows on 10 Nov (TS) and Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC).

Two Swallows were at Bretton on 15 Oct (DG), one at Folksworth on 17 Oct (BS), two at Peterborough Centre on 25 Oct (GRH) and one at Eldernell on 12 Nov (TP). A House Martin was at Bretton on 19 Oct (DG). A flock of 50 Meadow Pipits was at Stanground High Wash on 1 Nov (GW) and 35 plus were at Deeping High Bank on 6 Nov (SD). Two Water Pipits were seen at Nene Washes on 14 Oct (JT) and at Eldernell on 16 Nov (SH). Two Grey Wagtails were at Funthams Pit on 21 Oct (GS), one at the sluice at Stanground Wash on 1st and 10 Nov (GW), one flew over the railway station at Peterborough on 3 Nov (TW), one at Bainton Pits on 4 Nov (RT) and one at Peterborough Centre on 6 Nov (BS).

49 Robins were counted at Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC). Six Stonechats were at Nene Washes on 16 Oct (JT), one on 22 Oct (AL), two at Eldernell on 31 Oct (CM) and 16 Nov (SH), one at Stanground Wash on 1 Nov and two on the 10th (GW), and one at March Farmers on 12 Nov (OM&MM). A Wheatear was at Nene Washes on 14 Oct (JT). 32 Blackbirds were at Peterborough Cemetery on 10 Nov (BS). Six Fieldfares were at Morborne Village on 1 Nov (SD), 30 at Bainton Pits on 4 Nov (RT), 40 at Glinton bypass on 4 Nov (TW), 20 were at Chesterton on 6 Nov (BS) and 40 plus there on 8 Nov (SD), 50 at Peterborough Cemetery on 8 Nov, 80 at Fletton on 8 Nov, 25 at Elton on 8 Nov (BS), 20 at Hereward Mast on 9 Nov (RT), 40 at Stamford market on 10 Nov (GRH), 280 at Willow Drove on 10 Nov (DB) and 23 were at March Farmers on 12 Nov (OM&MM). Ten plus Redwings were at Funthams Pit on 21 Oct (GS), 65 plus were at Morborne Hill on 1 Nov (SD), 26 at King’s Dyke NR on 3 Nov (GW), 30 at Casewick on 3 Nov (TW), 30 at Crown Lakes on 4 Nov (GW), 20 at Morborne Hill on 10 Nov (BS), and 40 at Morborne Hill on 15 Nov (BS).

A male Blackcap was at Peterborough Cemetery on 8 Nov and another at Morborne Hill on 10 Nov (BS). A possible Pallas’s Warblers was at Woodwalton Fen on 12 Nov (SH). A Chiffchaff was at Bainton Pits on 15 Oct (RT), one at Dogsthorpe Star Pit on 15 Oct (RB), one singing at Werrington on 17 Oct (CM), one were at March Farmers on 12 Nov (OM&MM), one at Woodwalton Fen on 12 Nov (BM), one at Orton BP on 16 Nov (SC) and one were at Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC). 34 Goldcrests were counted at Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC). 36 Long-tailed Tits in mixed tit flocks were at Bainton Pits on 4 Nov (RT). Three Willow Tits were at Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC). Two Jays were at Bainton Pits on 15 Oct (RT). 300 plus Jackdaws were at Morborne Hill on 1 Nov along with 220 Rooks (SD). A Hooded Crow was at March Farmers on 7 Nov (JT). About 2000 Starlings were at Stanground High Wash on 1 Nov (GW), 240 were at Morborne Hill on 1 Nov (SD), and 300 to 500 at Bainton Pits on 4 Nov (RT).

Two Tree Sparrows were at Morborne (north of the village) on 1 Nov (SD) and one at Eldernell on 5 Nov (TW). 155 Chaffinches in three flocks were at Newborough on 20 Oct (DB). Four Brambling were at Funthams Pit on 21 Oct (GS). Two Siskins were at Newborough on 10 Nov (DB) and one at Woodwalton Fen on 16 Nov (SC). 30 Linnets were at Welland Bank on 29 Oct (TW), 166 at Morborne Hill in two flocks on 1 Nov (SD) and 80 at Deeping High Bank on 6 Nov (SD). Three Twite were at Nene Washes on 13 Oct (JT). Two Crossbills were at Southey Wood on 13 Nov (GW). A Lapland Bunting was at Deeping High Bank on 6 Nov (SD). A Snow Bunting was at Eldernell from 16th to 18 Nov (SH, SD, JO). 40 Yellowhammers were at Casewick on 3 Nov (TW). A Corn Bunting was at Newborough on 31 Oct (DB) and another at Eldernell on 18 Nov (JO).
