Rare passage migrant.
Two records: On 1 Sep, when an immature flew over Woodcroft Lodge (PT) and one south over Ferry Meadows CP on 8 Sep (MJW).

2001
Rare passage migrant.
Following the record year of 2000, a return to normal with just four sightings. One over King’s Dyke NR on 8 Sep (GW), with the same or another over the same site the following day (GW), one over Helpston on 25 Sep (MLB) and one over Monk's Wood NNR on 28 Sep (MT).

Rare migrant.
The first spring sighting was at Orton BP on 14 May (MC, BT, DW, NE). Interesting summer records of singles were at the Nene Washes 30 Jun (AB) and Dog-in-a-Doublet 30 Jul (DP).
An exceptional influx in September through eastern England was reflected locally by two over Morborne Hill (DP) and Welland Bank Pits on 22 Sep (AB), singles at
Morborne Hill (DP, MHa, JO) and Chesterton on 23 Sep (BHS), an adult male over Orton Waterville on 28 Sep (RGC), one over Monk's Wood NNR 27-28 Sep with 2-3 here on 29 Sep and two on 30 Sep (RB). The last was at Baston Common on 25 Oct (WB).

Rare migrant.
A bird was seen well crossing the old A605 heading south just west of Chesterton, mobbed by corvids on 11 Oct (KS).
