2003
Rare passage migrant.
The excellent run of records of this species continues. A sharp-eyed train commuter showed that it pays to look out the window from time to time when he found an adult at West Fen, March, 18-20 Mar (DW et al). A pair was present on the Nene Washes, 13-14 May (CK).

2002
Rare passage migrant.
Two records continue the recent run of records of this ever popular species. In spring, a single bird drifted north over Woodwalton Fen NNR on 24 Mar (DGr, PAn). In autumn, two adults and a juvenile arrived on the Nene Washes, frequenting the Eldernell and March Farmers area between 24 Nov-9 Dec (MO)..
2001
Rare passage migrant.
A remarkable year, with three records involving six birds. Five birds high and distant over Peterborough United Football Ground 14 Apr (SPD) were thought likely to be this species, and this was confirmed when a party of five birds were again seen over Peterborough on 16 Apr (MF). A single low over Dog-in-a-Doublet following the River Nene eastwards on 28 Apr (SPD) was lost to view, and though thought to have landed around the Eldernell/March Farmers area of the Nene Washes, could not be located later despite searching.

2000
Vagrant.
An adult fed on the Nene Washes RSPB reserve 5-6 Sep before flying south early on 7th (JT, DP et al).

1999
No records.

1998
No records.
