2003
Common resident breeder.
A welcome increase in the number records with reports from 26 locations. Peak counts of 220 at Black Bush on 16 Sep (CK) and 76 at Farcet Fen on 15 Feb (SPD). Breeding reports from Elton and Farcet Fen. A schizochroic (abnormally pale) female was at Crowtree, Farcet Fen, from 25 Mar to at least 14 Jun and bred (SPD, KAF).

2002
Common resident breeder.
Notable counts included 70 at North Bank on 27 Sep (BHS), 51 at Yaxley on 1 Dec (KW) and 59 at Crowtree, Farcet Fen, on 19 Dec (SPD). No breeding records were received.

2001
Common resident breeder.
Just five reports from four locations. A good count of 81 roosting at Borough Fen 2 Nov (DW). Otherwise, 8–14 reported from Dogsthorpe, where four pairs were present all year (WI), Elton (BHS) and Helpston (SPD). More reports, especially flock sizes, would be welcome.

2000
Widespread resident.
Reported only from seven locations! A maximum of 25 were at Morborne Hill 29 Sep, with 23 at Dogsthorpe on 15 Oct (CBR)

Widespread resident.
All records related to post-breeding flocks including 60 at
Morborne Hill 27 Oct (BHS), 44 at Newborough 3 Nov (DB) and 150 at Crown Lakes CP 6 Sep (GW).

1998
Common resident.
No records were received away from the Nene Washes!
Nene Washes: Up to 20 were behind the Whittlesey reserve office in December. A few records were received of birds commuting between Whittlesey and Dog-in-a-Doublet.
