Common resident breeder.
The first reported singing bird of the year was at Farcet Fen on 11 Feb and this area held a peak count of seven on 15th of the same month (SPD). At Stibbington GP on 23 Mar, again seven birds with four in song (BHS). Juveniles were recorded at
Farcet Fen and Ferry Meadows CP.

2002
Common resident breeder.
Common in a variety of habitats. The maximum count was of 20+ at
Ferry Meadows CP on 15 Sep (SPD).

2001
Common resident breeder.
A very common species and familiar garden visitor. Reported only from Orton BP and Morborne Hill, where a maximum of six were counted (BHS).

2000
Common resident.
The only notable record was of up to ten present throughout at
Orton BP.

1999
Common resident.
A common breeder.


1998
Common resident.
Widespread.
Nene Washes:
Eldernell Pits held five territories, the same as last year.
