Vagrant.
Two to three at the Nene Washes with Bewick's Swans 1-4 Jan showed characteristics of the rossicus ('tundra') race (JO, CK et al).


1999
Vagrant.
A flock of five on the Nene Washes 10 Jan and 19 Jan, of which at least four showed characteristics of the 'tundra' race, A.f. rossicus (GRH). Small numbers of the species are now fairly regular on the Ouse Washes.

1998
Rare winter visitor.
Two were at Dogsthorpe Star Pit NR on 16 Jan (ARF), loosely associated with Greylag Geese. Two rossicus ('tundra') birds were at Deeping High Bank, 27-29 Mar (AFB).
Nene Washes: A family party of up to six remained on a field of beet-tops on the north side of the reserve, roosting on the reserve floods (12-29 Jan).
