Rare passage and winter migrant.
A male was seen at Eldernell on 4 Jan (SPD et al).

2002
Rare passage and winter migrant.
Two records of this charismatic but rare raptor: single males were seen at Woodwalton Fen NNR on 1 Jan (the same bird as at the end of 2001) (SPD) and on 21 Apr (RMP).

2001
Rare passage and winter migrant.
Two records of this rare and often difficult-to-identify Accipiter from Woodwalton Fen NNR, with single birds there 21 Sep (KWa) and an immature male 31 Dec (SPD, MW).

2000
Rare, non-breeding resident.
Four records. A second-year male was at Monk's Wood NNR 19 Apr (RB). Other birds were seen at Deeping High Bank 27 Apr (DP), at Elton Furze on 2 Nov (RD) and a female was at White Fen on 16 Dec (RES).
1999
Rare, non-breeding resident.
The only record was from the Market Deeping bypass
: one flew across the road, landing in a tree on 25 Jul (MJW).

1998
Vagrant.
A female drifted south-west over the garden of the Old Rectory,
Market Deeping, on 13 May (TW). A male was at Milton Park on 11 Dec (CBR).
