2003
Rare passage migrant.
The only record during 2003 was of two birds on the Nene Washes RSPB reserve on 29 Sep (RSPB, JT). One was seen around Field 12, the other at Popley's Gull, then feeding on a recently-cleared ditch on Eldernell Wash.

2002
Rare passage migrant.
The first record was of one on recently flooded pools by Popley’s Gull, which flew towards the River Nene on 28 Sep (RSPB). The next day, three birds were seen around Gunwade and Lynch Lakes at Ferry Meadows CP (DG, MJW). One flew over Peterborough railway station on 1 Oct (MC), while at least one bird was at
Prior’s Fen GP on 6 Oct (SPD). Three were seen again at Ferry Meadows CP on 8 Oct (GW) and one bird which lingered 30-31 Oct was considered to be of the Scandinavian race littoralis (MAW, MW, TD).

2001
Rare passage migrant.
One at
Deeping Lakes NR on 25 Feb showed characters of the Scandinavian littoralis race (TW). One calling and seen briefly at Prior’s Fen GP on 10 Oct (BHS) and another at Deeping Lakes NR on 24 Oct (WB, TW) completed an excellent year for this rather rare visitor.

1998
Rare migrant.
Nene Washes: One was along the reserve section of the River Nene on 3 Oct. A littoralis bird (Scandinavian race) in summer plumage was alongside the first Yellow Wagtails and Wheatears of spring at March Farmers on 2 Apr.
