Rare winter migrant. The majority of records came from Woodwalton Fen NNR with two birds recorded on 1 Jan (WB, RB), 4 Feb (JO et al), 9 Feb (WB, RB), 17 Feb (MW), 20 Feb (JO), and. Singles were recorded on 18-19 Feb (BHS, MH) and 25 Feb (MM, OM). Away from Woodwalton Fen NNR, singles were at Eldernell on 11 Jan (NC) and 8+ at Holme Fen NNR on 12 Jan (SPD). |
| 2002 |
Rare winter migrant. The handful of birds present at Woodwalton Fen NNR the end of 2001 remained into 2002, increasing to 15 by 13 Jan and (RMP). Despite visits by several birders, only small numbers were seen in to February with two birds present on 12 Feb. What appeared to be a new influx of 25 birds on 16 Feb (RMP) was short-lived, as by 21 Feb numbers had again dropped with only four present (JO). No further records here until a single bird on 12th and 26 Mar (BHS). The only other record was of two at Monk's Wood NNR on 5 Mar (RBr). |

Rare winter migrant. At Woodwalton Fen NNR a single bird was found with Lesser Redpolls 11 Nov with up to three birds seen regularly up to 30th (RMP et al) and 2-3 birds present at the same site 30 Dec (SPD, MW). |

Scarce migrant. At least two at Woodwalton Fen NNR 9 Dec (RMP). |
| 1999 |
Scarce migrant. Two at Ferry Meadows CP on 26 Apr (CBR). Now reclassified as a distinct species. |
