2003
Escape.
Most local records can be traced to escapes from captivity or their offspring but vagrants from wild or feral populations on the continent are possible.
The first record was of three birds on the Nene Washes at Ring's End on 16 Feb (NT). Three birds, probably the same, were found at Deeping Lakes NR on 16 Mar (WB, TW). Following this first record, 1-2 birds were observed by a number of observers at this site until the last spring sighting on 6 May of two (BHS). Two were then seen there again from 15 Oct and four were seen on 3rd and 23 Nov (WB et al). The only other record was of two at Ferry Meadows CP on 15 Apr (RB, WB).
