2003	Scarce passage migrant. One was at Prior’s Fen GP on 27 May (KD) was feeding with a Sanderling. An adult was at Prior’s Fen GP on 18 Jul (MW). One at Deeping Lakes NR between 17-21 Sep (WB et al) was the first record for the reserve. A juvenile was also present on the Nene Washes on 15 Sep (RSPB).
2002	Scarce passage migrant. A very poor year for this species, with the only record being of a single bird at Fletton BP on 16 May (SPD, MW).
2001	Scarce passage migrant. Birds on spring passage were seen on the Nene Washes with two birds at March Farmers 15 May, 5 Jun and 13 Jun (RSPB, MM, OM). The first returning bird was a juvenile at Prior’s Fen GP 28 Aug–4 Sep (GW et al) and three at Ferry Meadows CP 15 Sep (CHa, CM). A major movement through eastern counties in mid-September resulted in three birds at Ferry Meadows CP and a flock of 11 juveniles at Prior’s Fen GP (BHS, SPD) on 19 Sep, with up to eight still present at Prior’s Fen GP on 20 Sep, decreasing to four by 21st. At Fletton BP, four on 26 Sep (CD) and six juveniles 1 Oct (SPD), and another single at Prior’s Fen GP on 27 Oct (CD, CJ). The last of the year was one on the Nene Washes from 4–16 Nov (JT).
2000	Scarce migrant. In spring, two were on the High Wash on 12 May and one was at Baston & Langtoft GP 21 May (DP). Two were seen on the Nene Washes RSPB reserve 31 Oct-1 Nov, with a single on 6 Nov (JT).
1999	Scarce migrant. Three records. A single at the Nene Washes 5-6 May and another there on 16 Sep. A third record came from Baston & Langtoft GP on 26 Aug.
1998	Rare migrant. Two birds were at Baston & Langtoft GP on 12 Sep (TW), increasing to five the next day with three on 19 Sep and four on 20th. Nene Washes: The only spring bird was on Feldale on 16 Apr. One was seen on 11 Aug, with four on 14 Sep, five on 15th and two from 29-30 Sep.
