Common migrant breeder and passage migrant. Present in the Nene Washes area from the beginning of the year through to 21 Apr, when one was at Prior's Fen GP. No records during May-Aug. The next record was of one at Prior's Fen GP on 27 Sep, with records then continuing to the end of the year. Birds also visited Baston & Langtoft GP, Deeping Fen Farm and Deeping High Bank. The peak count was of six flying west along the River Nene on 20 Mar. Interestingly, Black Swans now arrive in Iceland along with migrant Whooper Swans! |

Escape. One to two birds present throughout the year (MO) and recorded from Nene Washes, Stowe GP, Deeping Lakes NR, Deeping High Bank, Baston Fen NR, Burghley Park and Tongue End. |

Escape. Up to three birds where present on the Nene Washes (RSPB, TW) and Prior’s Fen GP (GW, SPD) 8 Mar-27 Dec with presumably one of these seen at Baston & Langtoft GP on 17 Mar (WB). |

One at Prior’s Fen GP 12 Feb (PJP), one Orton Mere 28 Feb (MAW), two Eye Green May (JRJ), four Ferry Meadows CP 10 Jul (DP) with one there on 21 May, two on 9 Nov (GW and one there 28 Dec (MAW), two Hampton Lakes 16 Jul (GW), two Orton BP 6th and 14 Aug, one Nene Washes 14 Oct and one Bainton GP 4 Nov (BT). |
