Common resident breeder. A common, widespread resident popular with birdwatchers. The maximum count was of 80+ at Woodwalton Fen NNR on 19 Feb (MH). Flocks of between 20 and 37 birds were reported from Deeping Lakes NR, Ferry Meadows CP and Bainton GP. Birds came to peanut feeders and fat balls at Eldernell, West Town, Elton, Newborough and Fox Covert Lane. |

Common resident breeder. This ever-popular bird was again widely reported and delighted many, as garden visits become ever more common. The peak count was of 34 at Baston Fen NR on 10 Nov (TW). Counts of 15 or more were recorded from Bainton GP, Burghley Park, Ferry Meadows CP, Longthorpe, Morborne Hill, Nene Washes, Orton BP, Orton Brimbles, Raveley Wood, Stowe GP, Deeping Lakes NR and Woodwalton Fen NNR. |

Common resident breeder. Widely reported throughout the region throughout the year (though no records submitted between 27 Apr and 8 Sep). The flocking nature of this species lends it to reported counts. The highest counts were recorded at the following sites: Ferry Meadows CP 30 on 24 Jan (GRH), 23 on 2 Nov (BHS), 21 in three groups 17 Sep (SPD); Woodwalton Fen NNR 25 on 26 Nov (MM, OM), 17 on 5 Nov (KW); Helpston 22 (flocks of 13 and 9) on 8 Jan (SPD); Thorpe Wood 15 on 16 Feb (MW); Maxey GP 15+ on 4 Nov (BT); Peterborough Cathedral 14 on 31 Jan (CH); Stanley House, Peterborough 13 in 2 Nov (BHS); Longthorpe (in a garden) 12 on 25 Dec (GRH); Dogsthorpe Tip 11 on 27 Dec (BHS); and Holme Fen NNR 10 on 26 Dec (BT). |

Common resident. Recorded throughout the year, with the largest flocks being 17 at Frank's Pit on 4 Nov, 17 at Orton BP on 5 Feb, 20 at Bainton GP on 1 Oct, with 36 there on 4 Nov. There were 27 in two flocks at Baston Fen NR on 25 Nov and 37 at Morborne Hill on 25 Sep. |

Common resident. Largest flocks included 23 at Maxey on 28 Nov and 23 at Woodston on 26 Oct. Records of 19 in Cathedral Gardens on 23 Nov and five feeding on a nut feeder in Longthorpe were of particular interest. |

Common resident. Largest parties were c30 at Langtoft West End GP on 10 Oct, c25 at Dogsthorpe Star Pit NR on 31 Aug, and 20 at Baston & Langtoft GP on 5 Dec. In Longthorpe, birds were recorded on peanut feeders (GRH), This is a fairly new aspect of their behaviour that they seem to have learned over thr past couple of years, and is now being noted all over the country (cf Siskins coming to red peanut bags c15 years ago). |
