March saw 20 birds at Market Deeping on 15 Mar (TW); these were first reported on 8 Mar; up to seven birds were very mobile in the Longthorpe area (pictured above, right), feeding on crab apple (Malus) between 16-20 Mar (MO). At the tail end of the year, single birds were seen in Stamford on 27 Oct (BirdGuides.com) and a single bird seen briefly at Dogsthorpe Star Pit NR on 25 Dec (KD) was surely reward for walking off the turkey dinner. |

Rare winter and passage migrant. The only record was of a single juvenile at Toftland, Orton Malborne, on 30 Dec (CSy). |

Rare winter and passage migrant. A relatively good year but all frustratingly short-stayers: two at Baston & Langtoft GP on 1 Jan (TDi), 30 at Helpston 3-4 Jan (JB, JCr), two feeding on guelder rose on Milton Golf Course 7 Jan (WEW), three along Shrewsbury Avenue, Orton Longueville, 10 Feb (MJW), two by the Market Deeping bypass 18 Feb (per GRH) and five at Orton Mere 1 Apr (CHa). |
