2003	Common migrant breeder and common passage migrant. The first returning bird was recorded at Barnack Hills and Holes NNR on 12 Apr (NC). Seen at numerous locations throughout the recording area with a maximum count of 11 at Castor Hanglands NNR on 9 May (KAF, SPD). The first juvenile birds were reported on 28 Jul, whilst the last confirmed report was from Morborne Hill on 18 Sep (MW).
2002	Common migrant breeder and common passage migrant. First recorded from Eldernell on 19 Apr (BHS), with widespread arrival from 25 Apr. An impressive count of 57 singing males was received from the Helpston area (RA). Smaller numbers were reported from a further 29 sites across the area. Records of juveniles came from three sites: Elton, Ferry Meadows CP and Stone Bridge Corner. The last record was of three birds at Ferry Meadows CP on 21 Sep (MJW, DG).
2001	Common migrant breeder and passage migrant. Orton BP hosted the first of the year 26 Apr (SPD), ten days later than 2000. Some 15 singing males were counted between Bainton and Marholm 28 May (DW) and at least 15 birds were counted at Ferry Meadows CP 28 Jul (MW). Four birds were recorded from Deeping Lakes NR 25 Aug (WB) and three singers at Orton BP 26 Apr (BHS). Smaller numbers recorded from Bainton GP (MHo, DB), the edge of Grimeshaw Wood, Bretton (MW), Willow Drove (DB), Elton (BHS, KS), Kate’s Bridge (WB), Newborough (DB), West Town (MW), Morborne Hill (BHS), Nene Washes (RSPB). The last at Elton 27 Sep (KS).
2000	Common summer visitor. First recorded on 16 Apr at Orton BP, with the last record at King's Dyke NR on 20 Sep (both GW). Other records, mostly, singles, came from Ferry Meadows CP, Castor Hanglands NNR, Newborough, Orton Mere, Kate’s Bridge, Baston Fen NR, Deeping Lakes NR, Baston & Langtoft GP and Drysides BP. There were seven territories on the Nene Washes. Significant numbers were noted at the following locations: six at Orton BP on 23 Apr, nine at Bainton GP on 1 May, six at Morborne Hill on 24 Jun and six at Eldernell on 9 Sep.
1999	Common summer visitor. An early record on 3 Apr from Orton Mere (CEH). Last record was of an immature bird at Crown Lakes CP on 6 Sep (GW). At Orton BP there were at least ten breeding pairs.
1998	Common summer visitor. First sighting came from Ferry Meadows CP on 1 May (RAH). One was at Thurlby Slipe on 4 May with two at Dogsthorpe on 30 May, two on territory at Milton Park and one at Crown Lakes CP on 6 Jun. Good numbers were recorded at Morborne Hill on 21 Jun, some with young. The last two were in Longthorpe on 8 Aug. Nene Washes: First noted on 16 Apr. Eldernell Pits held six territories, compared with eight last year.
